Eclipse

Eclipses, as they say, happens whenever an object moves into the shadow of another. I thought this topic would be a good start for my blog today because it totally represents what I feel about three things, the people of today, cavemen and yes, technology. Before I start, I know most would think that cavemen and technology doesn't quite add up, but I realized something today. Cavemen are often cast in to the shadow of the people today when the topic of technology comes up. First, the definition of technology from E-Look Dictionary, " The discipline dealing with the art or science of applying scientific knowledge to practical problems." With this said, think about it, isn't the weaponry, be it clubs, slingshots or even the infamous fire, considered technology? I think it's something that could be pondered and argued about. Here is my opinion, yes, the weaponry the cavemen made in the early ages weren't as complex as say, the microcomputers we have right now, but I think it still contains the true essence of technology, which is to provide efficiency as well as productivity. Also, I think it's important that we remember that technology does not simply evolve in a night, week, month or even a year. The reason technology evolves, for me, is that it has a solid foundation which is based on the ideals the cavemen were able to put into people's minds which is the idea of always trying to improve what we have to make life better. So in a way, maybe we should thank cavemen for the computers we are using today, the cellphones, the MP3 players, and ultimately, maybe, just maybe, given the circumstances, the earliest people were and are the most technologically advanced civilization among us all.

Questions to be pondered about: (ICTM Project)
  • Where else can I maximize Google and its apps for my work in INTRICT
  • What are other online applications out there that similarly support my activities as a student?
  • What exactly do I mean about productivity? How is productivity related to technology?
  • What can I suggest to my parents to also improve their productivity?
First, I think Google and its applications' effectiveness does not need to be judged on a smaller scale like a job. On a bigger scale, like life, I think Google applications would also work just fine because I think it can be part of a really efficient lifestyle. With all of the Google applications being constantly developed and improved, I think it can be used to improve many facets of our life, most importantly, time management. With the current rise of technology in our society, I think there are many applications that can support my lifestyle as a student. The most recent programs I have used are the document converters and online quizzes which were very effective and bug-free online applications. Meanwhile, I think productivity is producing as much work in a smallest time possible. It is simply making the most of our time and being efficient in everything we do. Productivity is closely related to technology because technology makes it possible and easier for us to improve our productivity. Finally, I think as an ICTM student, the thing I could suggest to my parents to improve their productivity is to make most out of the recent surge of technologies today. I think by updating them on the recent developments in technology, I will be able to let them know how to do their everyday activities in a much easier way.
