Suspiciendo Despicio

"Suspiciendo Despicio", "As I look up, I see downward", a phrase so seemingly subtle in nature, but one that has a meaning that can linger with us for a lifetime. First uttered by the Father of Astrology, Tycho Brahe, it summarizes the basic principles of modern day astrology, which is trying to fathom the deepest knowledges the earth contains through the stars and the constellations. The earth is a being so uncertain in its nature since its early existence, its skies limitless in height, its oceans' depths unimaginable and, its variety of life basically astonishing, but can we really say it can be made certain, the events that happens within predicted? For me, I personally think the opposite. Yes, some can argue that some predictions do come true, and my answer to that is, I think, anything is probable. Not possible, but probable, I think it makes such a huge difference. For every successful man, he has a counterpart, the unsuccessful one, for every good man, there is a bad one. Simply put, life simply has unlimited potential that it can be said that anything can happen, but the most important thing is consistency, and that I think, is what makes astrology falter. Astrology, or any kind of prediction, I think, is a way for people to escape the total grasp of reality. Reality, as they say, can be the most beautiful, and haunting, element of ones life. Sometimes, people turn to the slightest chances and beliefs just to let the essence of reality fade away. I personally believe that it is human nature, but whenever I think about it, I only come to another question, isn't our lives meant for us to be written, not to be read?

Week in INTRICT/ INTRICT Interview:

This week, the focus on our subject was about business and management. I was honestly surprised to see how people and technology work as one in an enterprise. It made me appreciate the business and management side of my course because the discussions made me realize that it is also a vital part of being a successful IT professional. Last Thursday, June 19, we conducted an interview for our INTRICT Project. For me, I think the whole experience was educating as well as fun. I think the most significant part of the interview is that we felt like we were looking at our future selves, we had a concrete imagination of what were going to be like when we looked at ourselves in front of the mirror five years from now. In Jun Lacson, the person we interviewed, we learned a lot about the constant evolution of the IT industry especially in our country. Starting as an IT analyst, one of the parting words he had for us was that we should be conscious, aware of the constant developments of technology and also the business side of things.
